Our equals but not our betters, so why do we still curtsy and bow?

I CANNOT understand why people think they should bow or curtsy to members of the Royal Family.

It is servile, demeaning and embarrassing. The new King would do well to make clear that he doesn’t want, expect or require anyone to do this ever again, in public or in private. In the meantime, people should just stop doing it. Eventually the penny would drop that although we may respect the Royals and the job they do, they are our equals, not our betters.
