Give your blessing

BISHOPS are now days away from reporting recommendations to the General Synod on whether to allow same-sex couples to marry in the Church.

To withhold even a blessing in church is surely making the Church ill. The number of gay suicides is a grim statistic, and religion is a significant factor in gay Christian suicides.

It is sad that some people cannot see a love that wants to protect, support and give joy to the person someone is meant to be with. Instead, that love is illegitimate, unblessed, out of God’s holy garden. It is said to be a sin but gay couples feel so blessed. Extend the love, extend the blessing.
