By Chief Political Correspondent

HE’S certainly had more spare time on his hands since he stepped down as prime minister.

Now Boris Johnson had revealed he’s been using his new-found freedom to unwind – by painting cows.

Opening up about life after Downing Street, the former PM said he was enjoying doing more art.

‘I’ve got a project which is to master the form of the cow,’ he said in the TalkTV interview broadcast last night. He also said that he’s enjoying spending more time with his children – Wilf, two, and Romy, one – with wife Carrie.

‘What’s it like being at home with the kids? Are they seeing more of dad?’, Ms Dorries asked him.

He replied: ‘They are. Yes, and it’s fantastic because you know, I’ve got a very full day. It means I can do reading to them... building things. It’s great.’

Mr Johnson has previously revealed that he liked to make models of buses out of wooden wine crates to relax – explained how he even painted people on board. Speaking at the time, he added: ‘I paint the passengers enjoying themselves on a wonderful bus – low carbon, the kind that we brought to London.’
