We did it for our dad

THEY say they’re ‘not your average runners’.

But twins Tom and Mark Burke, 22, have become Race for Life poster boys.

The brothers and their sister, Maxine Lawton, 31, from Selby, North Yorkshire, started fundraising for life-saving research after their father, Mark, was diagnosed with cancer in March 2021. Their entertaining training videos caught the attention of radio DJ Chris Moyles, who shared their updates and helped them raise thousands of pounds.

Mark Sr died from small cell lung cancer in January last year, aged 54. Tom said: ‘We’re proud to Race for Life for our dad and for everyone who is facing cancer right now.’
