MISSING . . .

RETIRED college lecturer Ronnie Mackeson, 70, who lives in Devon, is hoping to trace his old pal Peter Franton, who was his neighbour in the 1960s and 1970s in Highgate, north London. ‘We bonded over a mutual love of pop music — we really liked Gilbert O’Sullivan and went to some of his concerts, and were also into Mungo Jerry — as well as cars and girls. He was better-looking than me, so he tended to get the “hot” girls, but we were both pretty successful on the dating scene. ‘Sadly, I have no pictures of him (I had one or two, but lost them over the years), so I attach one of myself at the age of about 21. I believe it was in around 1978 that Pete moved away because he got a job as a graphic designer, or it might have been as a commercial artist, for a company based somewhere in the north of England. Neither of us were big on letter-writing in those days before WhatsApp, so we gradually lost touch.

‘It would be great to meet up again and catch up. In 1980, I married my wife Carolyn; we had two daughters and now have a wonderful grandson. How has Peter’s life panned out? I’d love to know.’
