Naked truth

I AM amused that women are queueing to see actor James Norton in his birthday suit on stage (Mail).

Does this mean they will not be following the play, but will be just waiting for Mr Norton to make his big entrance? Surely he can’t live up to the hype.

Seeing actors naked on stage is surreal. I saw a farcical play starring a naked Peter Duncan. he wasn’t wearing his Blue Peter badge, but certainly proved his versatility.

Then there was Steaming, a play

set in a Turkish baths. Sassy comedian Jenny Eclair and Casualty actress Cathy Shipton walked on stage chatting away and just stripped off.

They were joined by Julie T. Wallace, famous for her role in TV’s The Life And Loves Of A She-Devil, who danced around merrily in the nude.

A production of Lady Chatterley’s Lover was something else again. The seating was around the stage and we had a close-up view of Her Ladyship getting frisky with Mellors. It was a bit too much for some of the audience. DAVID PATRICK MOORE, Beckenham, Gtr London.
