EWAN’S GIRL: I’VE SUFFERED ANXIETY SINCE THE AGE OF 4

IT IS a job that usually requires a calm confidence and a certain swagger.

But catwalk model Clara McGregor has now revealed how she has had crippling anxiety since she was aged just four and became addicted to drugs later in life.

But in a sign she is well on the way to overcoming her mental health problems, the 25-year-old daughter of Hollywood superstar Ewan has become the face of a campaign for Bluebella Lingerie.

Named global ambassador for the company, she is fronting its autumn/winter 2021 advertising promotion.

Miss McGregor spoke out during a photoshoot in London and told how she suffered from an addiction to medically prescribed Xanax but won her battle against it three years ago.

The model, who lives in New York with film producer Jimmy Giannopoulo, said: ‘I simply couldn’t have done this campaign before. Anxiety is suffocating and you just end up limiting yourself.

‘I’m 25 now and I’ve spent a lot of time working on it with therapy, but it’s only in the past three to four years that I feel less constricted by it. My sister Esther and my mum are a great help.’

She added: ‘When I was on Xanax I had no energy. It was incredibly hard for me to get off them, but I didn’t want to be in that space any more and would never consider taking one again.’
