Hibs boss Ross slams vile abuse of star Porteous

JACK ROSS last night condemned the ‘disgusting’ abuse aimed at Hibs defender Ryan Porteous on social media following his red card against Rangers.

Porteous was sent off in the Ibrox clash earlier this month for a reckless tackle on Joe Aribo, with Hibs subsequently failing in their bid to appeal the decision. It was the second time Porteous had been sent off against Rangers and it came almost two years after a lunge on Borna Barisic saw him dismissed in a game at Easter Road.

But, in a passionate defence of his player, head coach Ross has now revealed that Porteous was the target of some vile messages online — one of which wished him dead from a tumour.
