Bust-up as Trump slams Biden over Churchill snub

By Harriet Line Chief Political Correspondent

DONALD Trump hit out at Joe Biden last night for removing a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office.

The former US president questioned why his successor would take it out when he is ‘trying to get along with’ Britain.

In an interview by Nigel Farage on GB News, Mr Trump said he asked for the ‘beautiful’ bust to be returned to the office after Barack Obama had it removed. And he claimed he was ‘not surprised’ that the President reversed the move.

He added: ‘I mean, why would you do that with Winston Churchill when you’re trying to get along with your country?

‘You sent it, it’s such an important token. I had it back for my entire time and look, he was a very handsome man.’

In the wide-ranging interview, Mr Trump also suggested

‘He was a very handsome man’

that China could invade Taiwan after the Winter Olympics in Beijing in February.

The US has a law which requires it to help Taiwan defend itself – and Mr Trump appeared to suggest that China will take action because he is no longer in power.

Mr Trump said America’s position in the world was ‘at the lowest point it’s ever been’, adding: ‘There were no planes flying over Taiwan, the name wasn’t even mentioned, when I was president.’

He also spoke about the Royal Family. He praised the Queen and appeared impressed that she has ‘never had a scandal about herself’.

And Mr Trump said when they met, they ‘had a great time together’, adding: ‘She is a great, wonderful woman.’

He also said Prince Charles is a ‘wonderful person’.
