‘He has ceased taking alcohol. He has not made any repayments to the club as he is no longer welcome there.’

Sheriff Alison Michie said: ‘You accepted responsibility for these offences at the first opportunity. Nevertheless, I consider these are serious matters involving an element of breach of trust.’

Kearney was ordered to complete 130 hours unpaid work, placed under supervision for 12 months and told to pay back the £473.50 he had stolen.
