Crash sailor ‘to be extradited’

A BRITISH sailor accused of killing a crewman on another boat in a crash is due to be extradited to Denmark, officials have said.

Inverness-registered the Scot Carrier collided with Danish barge the Karin Hoej off the Swedish coast.

At a hearing in Sweden last month, David Mark Wilkinson, 30, admitted a charge of recklessness at sea following the collision on December 13. Swedish prosecutors said yesterday that Wilkinson will be extradited at the request of Danish authorities.
