Follow-up
THE recent letters about the great Sir Tom Finney reminded me of the time Everton were playing Preston North End at Goodison Park many years ago. one moment of sheer magic from Finney saw him juggle the ball from one foot to the other, yards from where I watched, before he calmly pushed the ball right between Everton and England centre half Brian Labone’s legs. Finney was around Labone in a flash, leaving him flat-footed and bewildered. As my dad always said, Finney was the finest player ever to lace up a pair of football boots.
