LUSUS: BOONIES, 2.15PM, RADIO 4

THIS series of truly creepy dramas, with a futuristic Gothic vibe, continues to deliver the goosebumps with this afternoon’s tale of a high-achieving, highspending couple. Ben (David Mumeni) and his wife, Cammie (This Time With Alan Partridge’s Susannah Fielding), live very comfortably indeed, but it takes a lot of toil and trouble from their staff for the couple to live so pleasantly. When Ben starts to worry about a dip in his earnings, he decides to underpay his staff. There will be a price to pay for that decision — and a mysterious ‘man without a face’ will be the one to see that the account is settled.

‘FOR God’s sake, ditch minimalism!’ The very thought of grey paint, wooden floors and curtain-less windows sends Laurence LlewelynBowen’s ruffles all a quiver.

He tells Kit Green in OVER THE TOP (12.04PM, RADIO

4), a programme in favour of excess, why we should be bringing back pattern and colour into our homes. Archive recordings from Quentin Crisp, Jilly Goolden and Ab Fab’s Edina & Patsy back Laurence (pictured) in his fight against the forces of minimalism.
