ON 12 July 2022, the Sky At Night team joined the rest of the world to watch as the James Webb Space Telescope released its long-awaited first images, which revealed stars and galaxies in such detail that even the most experienced astronomers were blown away. Now, Chris Lintott meets the scientists who are processing this exciting new data to find out what these images mean for the scientific community and the way we see the universe.
