DUMBARTON recorded a statement 4-0 win over Betfred Cup heroes Annan to maintain their 100-per-cent start to the season. The home side went in front with a third-minute Declan Byrne strike, adding further goals from Finlay Gray, Gregor Buchanan and Byrne again. Annan, who face Aberdeen in the second round of the League Cup, had no response and Dumbarton boss Stevie Farrell said: ‘The clean sheet pleased me the most. That’s three in the last four.’
