‘THE most covetable pieces of the season, in the most luxurious and desirable fabrics,’ is how Whistles proudly announced its premium range, Limited Edition. There are 22 styles and everything is on a strictly limited run, with often fewer than 100 pieces made. The collection includes a fabulous pair of soft denim wide-leg trousers and matching blouse, with spearpoint collar and balloon sleeve. It’s made with 100 per cent certified better cotton. The collection claims to be ‘crafted from premium fabric’ so I was disappointed to find its Willow striped knitted dress and matching cardigan was 12 per cent nylon.

VERDICT: A fun collection of fashion-forward designs — but check the label for composition.
