THE weather forecast for the Sun is always hot and bright, but there can be intense solar storms, and those storms can have an impact on us. During a solar storm, explosions occur, causing solar flares to send vast amounts of energy across space. Bridget Kendall is joined by a panel of physicists and scientists to discuss what is known about the internal structure of the sun, and to hear how solar eruptions can, due to an increase in radiation, damage satellites, disrupt power grids and cause all manner of trouble for us Earthlings.
