Kanye kicked off Twitter after swastika post

By Keith Griffith and Jennifer Smith

DISGRACED rapper Kanye West had his Twitter account suspended by Elon Musk after he shared a picture of a swastika combined with a Star of David.

The post came hours after an interview with US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. In it, West sparked outrage by declaring his ‘love’ of Nazis and his admiration for Adolf Hitler.

Musk, who reinstated West’s banned Twitter account last month after taking control of the company in October, decided this latest outburst was the final straw. He told West in a text shared by the rapper: ‘Sorry, but you have gone too far. This is not love.’ West responded: ‘Who made you the judge?’ West’s account was initially locked for 12 hours, preventing him from tweeting, and later suspended. It is unclear whether his suspension is temporary or permanent. However, his account appeared with the label ‘Account suspended’ – a term the company uses for permanent bans.

West has made a string of vile anti-Semitic comments causing brands – including Adidas, Balenciaga and GAP – to drop him.

His divorce from ex-wife Kim Kardashian was finalised this week.

West was kicked off Twitter ‘for incitement to violence’ after posting the swastika-and-star image, which he indicated would be the logo for his proposed 2024 presidential campaign.

Musk, who purchased Twitter for $44billion (£36.5bn), has previously styled himself as a ‘free speech absolutist’.

Twitter did not respond to a request for comment yesterday.
