Ongoing royal tragedy is worthy of the Bard

THERE is something Shakespearean about the deepening battle lines between Princes William and Harry, a tragedy of two former brothers in arms, one of whom now seems determined to cast slings and arrows at the other.

Any suggestion that this may be hyperbole was put paid to this week by the release of the Netflix trailer for Harry and Meghan’s documentary series – 73 seconds of glossy, performative angst released just in time to nix the Wales’s US tour.

Their mother – who was not immune to Shakespearean tragedy – would have been devastated. The rest of us can only wait for the curtain to lift on the next, painful act.
