Force criticised on LGBT stance

POLICE Scotland has been accused of flouting equality law by ‘buying into’ the ‘belief system’ of gay and trans rights group Stonewall.

The Mail revealed last month the force had withdrawn from a diversity scheme run by the charity.

Think-tank Murray Blackburn Mackenzie – which has been critical of SNP gender reforms – said: ‘Between 2014/15 and 2020/21 Police Scotland paid in the region of £36,000 to Stonewall, principally in membership fees. In (literally) buying into the Stonewall belief system, Police Scotland abandoned the 2010 [Equality] Act across a range of policy areas.’

Assistant Chief Constable David Duncan said: ‘All of Police Scotland’s policies align with equality law.’
