Not a fair investigation

THE Privileges Committee has been investigating for ages whether Boris Johnson misled Parliament. During this time, various members have publicly stated they believe he is guilty and lied. Was the committee’s verdict decided long before proceedings even started?

Labour fear Boris and it is in the interests of Remain politicians and the civil service ‘blob’ that he is publicly branded a liar, humiliated and thrown out of Parliament.

Why is only Boris being scrutinised over all these so-called parties? After all, he received just one fine after a police investigation. Many other people committed worse violations of the Covid rules and these have been brushed under the carpet.

This whole brouhaha has been brought about to disgrace a prime minister who kept his General Election promise to complete Brexit, introduced Covid vaccinations quickly and followed the advice of the scientists, medical experts and his Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Without him, things would have gone from bad to worse.

His three-hour interrogation should not have been done in public and broadcast on TV. To my mind, the Committee selected certain evidence and disregarded anything that went against their case. I question the legality of this kangaroo court.
