Farewell to One Man (of a kind)
By Harry Howard
ROBIN Page, former host of One Man And His Dog, has died aged 80.
A friend of King Charles, he died at home in Cambridgeshire on Saturday surrounded by his family after a long battle with prostate cancer.
An outspoken commentator on rural issues, he presented the BBC’s One Man And His Dog from 1994 until 2000. The conservationist was also a columnist and political campaigner and wrote for the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. His wife Lulu said: ‘He was a good, honest, country-loving man who was hugely loved by his family.’
His friend Marcus Stead added: ‘He was one of those people who made life in this country wonderful and always marched to his own beat.’
