Inflation pain

LIKe andrew Neil, I am astonished by the Chancellor’s casual statement that he is sanguine about Britain going into a recession if it brings down inflation (Mail).

This fiscal nonchalance appears to be counter-productive.

The prime Minister’s pledge to halve inflation by the end of the year is set in economic concrete.

Making pledges is facile when the country is evidently in such an insecure state.

The beleaguered public will have to endure yet more financial pain for the foreseeable, unlike our political masters, whose personal wealth will insulate them.
