Greedy MPs

So, the expenses gravy train remains alive and kicking. Four Mps have been uncovered claiming expenses from the public purse to pay motoring fines. Who do these people think they are? Correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t they de facto employees of the British public and taxpayers?

The avarice and self-entitlement of these well-remunerated Mps is unacceptable. Isn’t this fraud and shouldn’t police be involved?

EDDIE MCNEILL, Fauldhouse, West Lothian. FoUr Mps, including a Government minister, are being asked to pay back hundreds of pounds in driving fines they claimed on expenses.

They can’t even pay for their own wrongs, expecting taxpayers to pick up the bill. Mps are laying down the law for others to abide by, yet they do the opposite. They call themselves honourable members — who are they kidding?

I can’t have trust or respect for Mps when they behave in such a selfish manner. It beggars belief that even though they receive huge salaries, they still get their greedy fingers on the instant cash machine loaded with the public’s money.

RICHARD MIKULA, Nottingham.

oNCe again Mps shock us with their expenses claims. Why on earth did they think that taxpayers should pay their speeding fines? What else are they claiming for?

ARTHUR YOUNG, Paignton, Devon.

The snouts are still in the trough. The politicians claiming speeding fines as expenses should be ashamed of themselves, but I doubt they are.

DAVID GORDON, Romiley, Cheshire.
