Peaty positive about life and Paris as he battles his demons

SWIMMER Adam Peaty has opened up again on the personal battles which have blighted his time away from the pool. The three-time Olympic champion pulled out of the recent British Championships, citing mental health issues, and has admitted seeking help for problems with alcohol. Speaking to the BBC, he said he wasn’t happy about how it was starting to control his life and his social circles. Peaty, however, has now sought help for the issue and believes he has been able ‘to live life a lot more positively’. The 28-year-old, who has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is now hopeful of making it to another Olympics in a better headspace when the event takes place in Paris next year.
