GOLF: Welshman Stephen Dodd tied the lowest round in the history of the Senior Open to take a two-shot lead into the final round at Sunningdale. He shot nine birdies in a round of 62 to reach 11 under par. American Jerry Kelly is two shots behind while second round leader Darren Clarke is three adrift on eight under.

World Cup organisers are expected to make a decision next week about the viability of this year’s tournament without Australia and New Zealand after they dropped out because of Covid. England winger Jermaine McGillvary said: ‘I don’t think you can have a World Cup without those teams.’
