TOTTENHAM defender Toby Alderweireld is in talks with Qatari club Al- Duhail over a £13million move. The Belgian, who asked to leave Spurs last month, flew to Doha yesterday for further discussions.

The 32-year-old’s contract runs to 2023, but Tottenham’s new technical director Fabio Paratici i s reshaping the squad with talks continuing over a potential £42m deal for Atalanta centre- back Cristian Romero and a £15m deal for Bologna full- back Takehiro Tomiyasu.

CRYSTAL PALACE are closing on a £20million deal for Lyon defender Joachim Andersen and remain in talks for Schalke’s Ozan Kabak.

Palace are hopeful of doing a deal for Denmark international Andersen this week. The centre-back was on loan at Fulham last season. Palace have already signed Marc Guehi from Chelsea but have lost Gary Cahill, Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho. Kabak, who was on loan at Liverpool, could cost around £10m.

ARSENAL hope to confirm the £ 50million signing of Ben White from Brighton, with the defender undergoing a medical this weekend. Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale remains a target but they are unlikely to match the Championship side’s £ 32m valuation. The l atest bid i s believed to include an initial fee of £18m plus add-ons up to £26m.

LEICESTER say there has been interest in Hamza Choudhury from Newcastle United but the North- East club are struggling to match his valuation.
