Lynagh ready for step up

LOUIS LYNAGH would be ready and able to make a sparkling England debut this autumn if Eddie Jones picks him for the Tests.

Lynagh shone brightly in front of the watching England head coach as the exciting young wing scored his third try in two games.

In a match which saw Sara Cox become the Premiership’s first female referee, the 20-year-old burst over for the first of five tries in Quins’ bonus-point win.

Lynagh, included in the England training squad, was always a threat with his pace and power but Worcester gave the hosts a real battle.

Quins chief Tabai Matson said of Lynagh: ‘When he gets a chance he tends to finish it, which is the sign of a very good player. International rugby is another level but every week he steps up and puts his hand up.’
