Gene Hackman (above) has rarely been better than in Francis Ford Coppola’s tense thriller – which is really saying something. He plays a paranoid electronic surveillance expert who is hired to monitor a couple’s conversation, and starts to fear that he’s uncovered a potential murder plot.
