Debate on racism so distorted
Sarah Vine’s article last week about how toxic the race debate can be was brilliant and she made an extremely important point in an articulate way. Comments, no matter how inoffensive, can be distorted so claims of racism can be made.

Sarah Vine missed the point about why Nazir Afzal said what he did during BBC1’s Question Time, when host Fiona Bruce turned to him first to comment about allegations of racism.
It doesn’t matter if Ms Bruce didn’t mean to offend – it’s how the receiver felt about it.
We all need to be more careful with our words and actions and use these moments as learning curves. Amelia Young,
