Is arrested Katie Price finally on her way to jail?

REALITY TV star Katie Price could be facing prison after she was arrested yesterday for allegedly sending text messages to her ex-husband’s fiancee, in breach of a restraining order.

The mother of five was taken into police custody after officers swooped on a property in Partridge Green, West Sussex, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Her arrest comes just five weeks after she escaped jail for driving while disqualified under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. She was instead given a 16-week suspended sentence.

If she is found guilty of sending the messages to Michelle Penticost, who is engaged to her third former husband Kieran Hayler, a judge would be forced to give her a custodial sentence as she would have committed a crime within those 16 weeks.

Yesterday afternoon, the former glamour model was bailed without charge pending investigation and was collected from Worthing Police Station in West Sussex by her current boyfriend, Carl Woods, in his £35,000 Mercedes 4x4.

Price, 43, is banned from contacting Ms Penticost under the terms of a five-year restraining order imposed after she abused her in a school playground in 2018. She was found guilty of hurling a ‘tirade of abuse’ at her rival during a foul-mouthed rant in front of shocked schoolchildren and was fined hundreds of pounds.

Sussex Police said officers ‘responded to a report that a suspect had breached their restraining order’ at 5.45pm on Friday.

They added that a woman in her 40s was arrested at Partridge Green, the village where Price lives in her ‘Mucky Mansion’, at around 12.15am on Saturday.

Price’s latest drama comes four months after she flipped her BMW X5 into a hedge close to her £1.5 million home after drinking and taking cocaine. After the 6am crash, she told officers: ‘I’m guilty. I drank alcohol. I took drugs. I shouldn’t be driving. I admit it.’

Following her arrest, she pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court but her sentencing was deferred by 11 weeks while she undertook treatment at the Priory clinic in Roehampton, South West London.

Prosecutors dropped a drugdriving charge in light of her guilty drink-driving plea.

But despite facing up to six months in jail, she got a 16-week suspended sentence, 100 hours’ community work and a two-year road ban because she had complied with her promise to attend the hospital. However, it left both the police and politicians furious.

The Attorney General’s Office said it had received a complaint about the leniency of Price’s sentence, but added that it was not in its powers to intervene. District Judge Amanda Kelly explained to the court that her hands were tied because Price had complied with terms set at the previous hearing, saying: ‘The public may be appalled to know that I cannot send you to prison today.’

Price has previously been banned from driving four times.

Yesterday, Ms Penticost, 39, shared a cryptic message on Instagram which read: ‘Normal people don’t go around destroying other

human beings.’ She also shared the hashtag ‘#restrainingorder’.

Price and Hayler, 34, split in 2019 after eight years together.

The pair, who married at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa in the Caribbean in January 2013, have two children – Jett, eight and Bunny, seven.

Breaching a restraining order carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.
