Activists ‘arrest’ police outside jab centres

ANTI-VAXXERS have stormed Covid vaccine centres across the UK, demanding the sites are closed down and even threatening to arrest police officers who try to stop them.

Activists have barged their way into more than a dozen sites, armed with bogus legal paperwork which they claim gives them the right to stop people getting jabbed.

The sinister campaign, which has seen vaccine hubs in Stockport, Dorset, Surrey, Hereford, Yorkshire and London targeted, is being orchestrated on the encrypted social media app Telegram.

On there, one group member chillingly ordered the activists to take down the details of vaccine centre staff, adding: ‘When time comes they can get hung!’ Calling themselves ‘common law peace constables’, they have been arriving at the centres telling police and health workers that it is a ‘crime scene’.

They have produced paperwork with zero legal power, told officials the police are investigating the Government’s vaccine rollout and cited crime reference numbers.

In one flashpoint, a ‘peace constable’ wearing a red beret and tabard told a group of unamused police officers that he was arresting them ‘on suspicion of misconduct in public office’, after they refused to shut down a vaccine centre, and read them their ‘rights’.

The activist, Dave Murphy, who also believes the world is flat, later said on Facebook that he had de-arrested the officers, adding: ‘We served the vax centre a cease and desist order and told the sergeant that we will be back again and again until they do their job.’

Piers Corbyn, the 74-year-old brother of former Labour Party leader Jeremy, was arrested last Tuesday and charged with ‘causing a nuisance’ after he turned up with supporters at Guy’s Hospital in London.

Many anti-vaxxers believe a conspiracy theory that they have the right to enforce their own rules under Common Law, based on Article 61 of Magna Carta, signed by King John in 1215. Article 61 was removed in 1216 and, like much of the 807-year-old legislation, it has no legal power in the modern day.
