Janice Long: A Life In Music

A tribute to the much-admired broadcaster (right), who passed away on Christmas Day. Friends,colleagues, family members and some of the musicians she backed over the years discuss why Long is regarded as a trailblazer.

Based on a poem by Lord Byron, Drama: Darkness (Radio 4, 3pm) focuses on the summer of 1816, a particularly turbulent time for the infamous aristocrat, which he spent in exile on the shores of Lake Geneva. Alfred Enoch and Daisy Head star.

Actor Katherine Parkinson shares her love for the music of Tavener, Gershwin and Tallis during Private Passions (Radio 3, 12 midday).
