Sense from the 60s
Regarding certain people being dropped as school house names, it reminded me that when I started at my grammar in 1966 the houses were called Green, Blue, Red and Gold. A few years in, they were changed to Chester, Durham, Lancaster and York. There’s no controversy with these names.
