Reality TV awaits for winners

IN a boost to the makers of the new Netflix tennis docuseries, five featured players enjoyed wins at the Australian Open yesterday.

Around eight men and eight women are targeted for filming that has started in Melbourne as the sport tries to emulate the success of F1’s Drive To Survive.

Five of them progressed to the fourth round of the season’s first Grand Slam, which has already provided producers with plenty of material.

The Novak Djokovic drama has faded but two of those being followed by cameras — Greek fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and American Taylor Fritz — will now meet in the last 16.

‘I’m very privileged to be in it,’ Tsitsipas said of the series, by London’s Box To Box Productions.

Others to win were Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, Australian Alex de Minaur and women’s second seed Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
