LEFT-WING critics of the policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda have repeatedly argued that the measure would not work. Now they will have to eat

their words, as The Mail on Sunday reveals that arrivals are starting to ask to be sent back home rather than be flown to central Africa.

What better proof could there be that this firm but humane policy (that can save lives) can in fact achieve its aim if it is resolutely implemented?

Once it is clear that Britain is no longer an easy target for people-smugglers and queue-jumpers, they will think twice before targeting this country.

No country can long survive unless it effectively controls its borders. Those who sneer at Priti Patel’s plan have no alternative or solution of their own. Now that the facts clearly show they are wrong, they should have the grace to change their minds.
