Gaia’s heel of approval from mum Emma

IT’S a good job Emma Thompson was only watching her daughter Gaia strut the catwalk rather than designing the outfits herself, otherwise the young model would have found herself sporting some comfy flats rather than these fabulous silver heels.

Gaia, 22 – who’s also an actress, appearing in the 2015 film A Walk In The Woods with Robert Redford – got a standing ovation at designer Julia Clancey’s show last week from mum Emma, 63, and dad Greg Wise, 56, both pictured below at the Kornit Fashion Week event in London.

Afterwards Emma spilled the beans about her own fashion philosophy, telling me: ‘I would design super-flat, comfortable shoes for everyone.’

One person who might approve is supermodel Eunice Olumide, who was at the show. Walking in heels is never easy, she told me. Recalling a memorable encounter with celebrity photographer Rankin, she added: ‘I went up to him and said, “Did I do OK?” and he replied, “No, you look like you want to go to the loo!”’
