Horror injury rules Dolly out of Oz tour
ENGLAND hooker Nic Dolly suffered a horror knee injury in Leicester’s 27-5 win at Newcastle, writes Ross Heppenstall.
Sydney-born Dolly, 22, was carried off after a ‘crocodile roll’ at the breakdown by Falcons prop Adam Brocklebank, who was sin-binned. Dolly’s left knee folded into the turf and he is set for a long spell on the sidelines, wrecking his hopes of making England’s summer tour to his native Australia.
Team-mate Ellis Genge said: ‘He’s a good friend of mine, I was right next to him, and I’ll be praying for him tonight. He didn’t deserve anything like that.’
Tries from Nemani Nadolo, Guy Porter and Freddie Steward edged Leicester closer to clinching top spot, but the win was hugely overshadowed by Dolly’s injury.
