Mobs ransack West End shops
SHOCKED tourists were caught up in chaotic scenes as police fought with gangs who went on a looting spree in Central London.
Shops were ransacked by dozens of teenagers on Oxford Street and Leicester Square – two of the capital’s busiest areas – about 6pm on Friday.
Images and videos posted online show thieves running out of American sweet shops, with several looters jumping on the back of a red Ferrari as it tried to drive through the crowds.
Scotland Yard last night confirmed that several people had been arrested.
