Spot the true Prue!

BAKE OFF star Prue Leith was so delighted to meet the actress who is playing her on stage that she took off her earrings and gave them to her doppelganger as a gift.

The 82-year-old chef met Rosie Ashe, 69, for the first time at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre during the final production of Great British Bake Off: The Musical. Ms Leith was gushing with compliments for the Olivier Award-nominated performer but was particularly flattered by Rosie’s slender frame.

‘She told me she was thrilled I was slim and that I could sing and dance like a dream,’ Rosie told The Mail on Sunday.

‘I asked her if I could have her earrings as a joke, then as she left, she slipped them into my hand.’

The cast are hoping the show will make it to the West End.
