STAY AWAY!

Caicedo out in the cold after trying to force Arsenal move

By Rob Draper and Simon Jones

MOISES CAICEDO was told to stay away from Brighton yesterday after his attempt to force through a £70million transfer to Arsenal.

Caicedo, who took to Instagram on Friday night to plead with Brighton to let him leave, missed training and will not be involved in today’s fourth round FA Cup tie against Liverpool.

He has been told to take time off until his future is resolved. Arsenal are content to wait on Brighton’s decision on whether to sell the 21-year-old, having made a £60m bid with £10m in addons. Brighton are more likely to consider an £80m offer. Caicedo would be seen as an immediate boost to their title credentials but Arsenal also want Declan Rice in the summer, in what is likely to be a club-record £100m move for the West Ham man.

Arsenal have maintained good relations with Brighton since signing Ben White in 2021 and Leandro Trossard this month, and insist they have had no input in Caicedo publically pushing for a move.
