From class clown to poker king: Orsi on his team-mates

MAX CROCOMBE (Goalkeeper)

Max is king of the poker on the coach. He owns the table, the cards and the chips. It came in useful when we had a six-and-a-half hour trip back from Southampton after the last round.

MICHEE EFETE (Defender)

If anyone gives him stick, likes to mention he’s played for Norwich with people like James Maddison! Another Southerner like myself.

LUKE WATERFALL (Defender)

He reached the quarter-finals with Lincoln a few years ago, so his standard line to the rest of the lads is ‘Oh, is this your first time?’

NIALL MAHER (Defender)

Naz, as we call him, is one of my house-mates. He’s the class clown, maybe not always at the right time! We’ll watch the F1 series Drive to Survive. We’re both Lewis Hamilton fans.

JOSH EMMANUEL (Defender)

Signed on loan from Hull in January after overcoming health problems. You can see he’s got quality having played higher up.

GAVAN HOLOHAN (Midfielder)

Scored both penalties in our win at Southampton. We’d missed one in a game before so the gaffer said ‘Gav, you take the next one’. He’s one of our more experienced players.

ALEX HUNT (Midfielder)

Been in and out of the team but a real technical player and, at 22, has a big future ahead of him. I think he could go on to play at a higher level.

ANTHONY DRISCOLL-GLENNON (Midfielder)

It’s me, Glenno and Naz: the three Bandits or whatever nickname people give us now. Came through the academy at Liverpool, so he’s got the pedigree.

JOHN McATEE (Forward)

Fantastic last year, got his move to Luton, had shoulder surgery and came back on loan. At 23, the best is yet to come.

ME, DANILO ORSI (Forward)

The life lessons I learned going to America at 18 have definitely helped me. I’m from Italian heritage, my dad Gianluigi was born in Parma but came to England at the age of four.

HARRY CLIFTON (Midfield)

‘One of our own’ as Grimsby fans would say. Came through the ranks and played 200 games for the club. There is a TV clip of a four-year-old Cliffy being interviewed at Blundell Park as a fan.
