I’m A Celeb... Get Me Back In There!

By Katie Hind CONSULTANT EDITOR SHOWBUSINESS

THEY have already lived to tell their tales after enduring creepycrawlies, rats and all manner of other indignities.

But now nine veterans who took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! over the past 20 years have returned to the jungle for an ‘all-star’ edition.

Television presenter Carol Vorderman, former England cricketer Phil Tufnell and supermodel Janice Dickinson are among those competing for the title of I’m A Celebrity Legend.

Other contestants on the show, which will run for three weeks from the end of April, are ex-Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, boxer Amir Khan, athlete Fatima Whitbread, musician Shaun Ryder, former Royal butler Paul Burrell and dancer Jordan Banjo.

Ms Vorderman, 62, who was the fifth to be evicted from the show in 2016, said: ‘Doing I’m A Celebrity changed me a lot and I can’t wait to take part in this new series. I loved everything about it. We’ve still got a WhatsApp group.’

And Mr Tufnell, 56, the winner of the second series back in 2003 – revealed he jumped at the chance to return, saying: ‘I am one of the lucky few to have gone in the jungle and experienced it all, and that’s what appealed to me when they phoned up to ask me to take part again. I said yes immediately.’ Presenter Declan Donnelly said of the new show, which was filmed last year in South Africa rather than Australia: ‘It’s bigger and wilder than we could have hoped for, so viewers are in for a real treat.’
