In response to the report last week about text messages being

sent to low-priority 999 callers instead of ambulances, why shouldn’t they do that when there’s crew shortages? A 999 callout should be for serious emergencies only. This culture of dispatching ambulance resources to minor emergencies and calls for social or mental health problems must be reversed.
