EasyJet Holidays’ £1 billion ambition

By Luke Barr

EASYJET’S holiday division is on its way to becoming a £1 billion business, its chief executive claims.

Garry Wilson told The Mail on Sunday he is aiming to triple turnover at easyJet Holidays within the next few years. The budget airline launched the business, which allows UK customers to book European hotels alongside easyJet flights, in November 2019. It brought in revenues of £386 million last year. The operation was hampered by travel restrictions imposed during the worst of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

But last summer saw turbocharged growth which resulted in the business clocking up 1.1million bookings.

Wilson said customers are still booking more expensive trips for the summer in spite of the cost-of-living crisis.

He said the biggest players in the market have around five million customers. ‘There is no reason we can’t get to that size,’ he added. ‘We hope to be a billion-pound business very soon.’
