Tuchel’s treble plan

THOMAS TUCHEL has boldly targeted winning a treble with Bayern Munich this season after he was unveiled as the club’s new manager following the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann.

The German was appointed as Bayern head coach on Friday after they ruthlessly sacked Nagelsmann.

Tuchel, who has previously managed Chelsea, PSG and Borussia Dortmund, has signed a contract with the German giants until 2025.

‘Winning all titles is still possible,’ Tuchel said. ‘Therefore, it will be all about the details. I have an idea of what to do and I’m looking forward to it. It’s about playing for all titles.

‘Even when you work abroad for a while, you become even more aware of the importance of Bayern. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.’

The 35-year-old, who received the news of the new job while away on a skiing holiday, said he had not spoken to Nagelsmann out of respect.

‘I can certainly empathise with him, but it’s not my responsibility,’ he added. ‘Contact with him? Certainly not right away. I don’t want to be disrespectful. At some point our paths will cross.’
