Yacht fall Briton dies

A BRITISH sailor has died off the coast of Normandy after falling from a yacht.

Sussex Police said the incident happened at around 2pm on Friday and that the man was from Greater Manchester.

HM Coastguard confirmed that it was called shortly after 3pm following reports that a sailor from the Sussex Yacht Club had fallen overboard north of Fecamp.

He was winched aboard a helicopter and flown to a hospital at Le Havre, where he later died.

The club said it was ‘deeply saddened’ by the news.
