Award for MoS writer Draper

THE Mail on Sunday’s chief football writer Rob Draper has been honoured again after being awarded the prestigious and inaugural FedEx Football Writers’ Association European Football Writer of the Year award last week.

The judges, who included Gary Lineker and broadcaster Jacqui Oatley, cited his determination to give a voice to Liverpool fans, initially blamed by the authorities but later vindicated, after the chaos at the Champions League final in Paris.

Draper’s award for his live reporting and investigations comes after he also won the Sports Journalists’ Association Social Media Journalist of the Year and Football News Reporter of the Year in March.
