‘It’s Chernobyl all over again,’ says a character in this Japanese drama about the 2011 Fukushima disaster in which a tsunami devastated the nuclear power plant and meltdowns led to the radioactive poisoning of the surrounding area. The eight-episode series looks at what happened from the perspectives of the government, corporate organisations and those who put their lives on the line.The challenge the show faces is that the TV series Chernobyl, about the disaster in Ukraine, is regarded as an all-time classic and this will inevitably be compared to it.
