Chris’s rewild call to Royals
TV WILDLIFE presenter Chris Packham yesterday led calls for the Royal Family to ‘rewild’ their estates by reintroducing animals such as beavers and wild boar.
The 60-year-old delivered a petition of 100,000 signatures to Buckingham Palace, which read: ‘It’s time [the Royal Family] matched their words with actions – by restoring their land to its natural form.’
A Royal Estates spokesman said: ‘The Royal Family has a longstanding commitment to biodiversity, and for over 50 years have championed the preservation and development of natural ecosystems. The Royal Estates are constantly evolving and looking to continue improving biodiversity, conservation and public access to green spaces.’
